List of Perpetual CC Comments

so it’s OK to laugh at someonelse’s 16-17 year olds but we can’t LOL each other?

Please stop

I’ll bite. B&D, do you feel better now? <emoticon></emoticon>

“smirky virtual smirk” is my new, favorite phrase.

Good for you, B and D, you must be satisfied.

YMMV

Best thread ever.

virtual smiley smile, or one of those heart that only PC can make

Hello, I’m blueiguana. I’m a mac and I can make virtual smiley smiles :D

[College Confidential - Smilies](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/misc.php?do=showsmilies)

it worked!!! harahhhh

This reminds me of the all-time repeated, ad nauseum, perpetual cc question:
“How do I make the grey quotebox??”

:p

:p

yayayay

Glad I could help b&d, all kinds of crazy fun! (btw, the :stuck_out_tongue: takes a lower case ‘p’…I don’t want you to miss out on the chance to virtually stick your tongue out at someone.).

lemme lemme

blue, do you know how to do heart?

I do not (sigh). Someone on the parent’s 2015 board does if I remember. All kinds of whackadoo pictures. If you scroll through you’ll see and I’m sure they’ll tell you.

(edit: lol b&d, the member I was thinking of is 2education…if you ever ‘see’ them you’ll know to ask.)

nah that’s the one of them thread I outa stay away
;)

“I’ve been here for 2 days and haven’t made any friends; should i drop out of college?”

“I made a B in 7th grade science. Are my chances for med school ruined?”

Wow I loved reading through these.

Here’s one I’m guilty of: “It [GPA, AP, etc.] isn’t that big of a deal.”

Perpetual comment when a newcomer posts a commonly-asked question:

“This topic has been done to death on CC.” Or “There are many threads on this topic, if you’ll just do a search.” Or any comment including the phrase “beating a dead horse.”

This always strikes me as inhospitable. To me, it says “Don’t bother us veterans with your silly questions, unless you can ask something that interests us.”

There are a number of reasons that someone might ask rather than searching. They might not know that the search function exists or how to use it (and heaven knows, it doesn’t always work well). They might want to know the current thinking on a topic, rather than the thinking 3 years ago. Their situation might have a specific angle that they haven’t seen discussed. Or, they might simply want to become participating members of this community.

May I suggest that when someone asks something we’ve seen discussed before, we either politely add whatever two cents we have to add, or just move on without posting? :)

“If you are coming to high school without having made a total year round commitment to one sport or EC you are already doomed.”

“College adcoms want to be able to fill their boxes.”

“Multiple EC’s at a low level won’t help you much.”
