<p>Hi, I'm looking for a list of prestigious, national or regional, general or specific (it doesn't matter) writing awards (especially for short stories and essays) such as the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards.</p>
<p>A short description of each is preferable. Despite a thorough search, I still cannot find any specific list of writing contests on CC so far.</p>
<p>Aside from what you mentioned, I don’t know of any. I know of journalism camps that look good, but not any awards that are prestigious. However, enter any contest, even local, and if you win, at least that’s something.</p>
<p>YoungArts’ awards are really prestigious, as well as Norman Mailer’s. Additionally, for girls going into sophomore and junior years, Nancy Thorp’s got a competition!</p>
