<p>There are some serious questions about the value of quarter long courses raised by what cognitive science has taught us about learning.</p>
<p>In fact, cog sci seems to be suggesting that semesters are not even long enough to have true, lasting mastery of the subjects we study.</p>
<p>As with many things cog sci, things are not quite concrete, but ask the psych or cog sci professors at your school about the value of these things and they may have interesting answers.</p>
<p>I’m of two minds-- it’d be tough to be scheduled different than friends and on an accelerated pace, but I certainly would have liked to take 33% more classes.</p>
