they look a bit scary… you see i took a glimpse at the brown application and i saw a list of questions that they want us to answer… i was just wondering… how do they want us to answer the questions?

Do you mean the essay questions? Just answer them completely in the space provided; there are a lot, but they're not too difficult.

There are only 3, one is only a few sentences long, and the other is only a couple of paragraphs. It's not hard, really.

what if you don't know how u got interested in Brown?
(the answer to #2)

and how do u fill out question #3?
(the work experience etc. thing)

"what if you don't know how u got interested in Brown?"

I don't understand why that's such a popular question for colleges to ask. I became interested in Brown by random chance...I heard someone speaking about the school, so I visited their website and found that Brown was the type of school I was looking for...do the admissions people expect applicants to have mystical visons telling them which school is ideal for them?

I don't think the question is quite as literal as you are taking it to be. I'm sure they're not so interested in the logistics (who told you about Brown and when), as what about the things you heard drew you to Brown in particular. And after that, what were the things unique to Brown that made you want to apply.
I guess they're sort of asking for flattery, but at least you can't be faulted for kissing up =)

What can Brown do for you?

yeh.. i really don't know how i got interested in brown.. i guess i just flipped to brown in my college guidebook....
..... what am i going to writeeee!!! :s

Is there a way that Brown wants you to list your acitivities? Can you maybe do it in a narrative form?

yeh.. how do they want the activities?
it's all so confusing...
unlike columbia's highly user-friendly, very specific app.

hahaha silver wavez u think they might kill us for taking over their board with columbia pride?!?

idk.. lol..

idk if i should even have any columbia pride.. im not even in! lol

but i couldnt resist the CC temptation.... i'm back :(

yea.. exactly.. how do they want us to write.. and i still don't understand how much they want us to write because other colleges generally give us a limit... ex. 200 words. how do they want us to answer the questions? do they want us to be creative or do they want us to be very straightforward and say I want to go to brown because of this, this, and this?

They want to leave it open to you so that they don't get a formula answer. They want your interpretation. You do what you want, and if they like it, that's good. If they don't, oh well, that's just not what they were looking for this time around.

Write as much as you want. For the question on why I'm applying to Brown, who influenced me to apply there, and my activities, I typed about three pages, and am planning on paper clipping them on. What are you going to do?

wait are you allowed to attach three pages for one question? there must be some kind of limit right?

Yes there are limits but Brown lets you go over them, not like UPenn and others which simply cut off the words after you reach the limit (I'm talking about online apps)

how do we know what the limits are?

BUCKWALD--LOL that was the best post ever!
