List of recommendation requirements by college?

Hi,

I'm currently a high school junior and am really worried about college recommendations. I am a good student but am shy and quiet in the classroom so I have not been able to forge very strong relationships with my teachers. I have one teacher who I have in mind but finding another is really stressing me out the letter would be generic at best.

I know some colleges require 0 or 1 recommendations rather than 2 but there are so many options that it is hard for me to keep it straight. I remember finding a list a few months back with a list of colleges and the amount of recommendations they require but cannot find it anymore. Does anyone have a list like this?

Also, any advice on what I should do about finding a second recommendation provider? I was thinking of waiting and doing my best to connect with my senior year teachers but given my past experience it is extremely unlikely this will happen, let alone in the 2 month time span I would have senior year before applications.

Any advice is appreciated :)

Okay, so, even though I had never really spoken to my HS guidance counselor, I quickly found out that she would be my best friend in this whole process. Not cuz I like her or she me, but she is totally responsible for sending rec’s no matter what. So, don’t be afraid about contacting your GC and letting him or her know each time you apply for a college or a scholarship. Most ask for a rec from at least your GC, and it’s their job to get you into a good college. If you can get at least one more teacher you are most likely good. I wrote a letter of request and sent a copy of my resume to the teachers I asked to write letters so they could comment on some of the items I had on my resume, as well as my classroom experiences. High School teachers expect to write rec’s so don’t be afraid to ask them. Good luck :)
