I would prefer schools withing the NY area. Somewhere around manhattan, westchester country, etc.

Appreciate all ur help ;-)

5.14? out of what?

Wow, your school has a ridiculous weighting scheme.

Whats your gpa scale, and do you know your class rank? A random number doesnt help us evaluate how you are academically

which schools are on your list so far?

um... 5.14 out of six but its impossible to get a perfect six. I think the highest anyone can possibly get is either a 5.5 or 5.7. Ive been getting As and A-s for the most part. Ive have two years of b/b+s in english, and 2 yrs of b+s in global history, otherwise, everything else is in the A range.

So far, i have Fordham, NYU, Columbia (BIG REACH), Vassar, Stony Brook, mmaaayyyybbeee amherst (BIG REACH),

So on a 4.0 scale, we're looking at about a 3.43 here with a 1270 SAT.

Fordham is a safety, as is Stony Brook. Everything else is a likely rejection, although a shot at NYU. Amherst, Columbia and Vassar would be a waste of an application fee.

i disagree about vassar. Vassar may claim to want high SAT scores, but in actuality, it weighs one's transcript much more heavily than SATs. People i know that had good grades, and have absolutely horrid sat scores got into vassar.

you might want to look at CUNY for a safety. They have a good business/econ program and are in the heart of the city. (and my dad teaches there and he's awesome)

unfortunately, i agree that amherst and columbia are way out of reach.

well, i was thinking columbia as a reach, bc they are pretty big on dance, and have a bunch of dance teams, and have hosted some of the major competitions that i went to. well, what do you suggest is a good reach??
o ..i forgot to add rensselaer to the list

how about connecticut college? its very similar to vassar, they dont require the sat-1 (which is bringing you down), and they have a fantastic dance program
