List of schools that waive app fee when you visit

can anyone write post any schools they know that will waive the application fee when you take a campus tour?

There is no list. But I wouldn’t go running around visiting schools to get your fee waived because you’ll spend more money on the plane tickets. I know Dartmouth does because I visited. As does Wellesley, and I visited that one. You can always call admissions and ask, but seriously, it’s not worth the trip yet. See where you get in, and then spend your money on visits.

Fordham strikes me as one. They kept sending me an offer for a free “express” application to apply almost immediately after I visited. I had no prior interest in the school, but applied anyway simply because of that. Brandeis may be another. Neither of these are confirmed however, simply speculation.

But I agree that you should not just apply to a school because of a free app. It’s a nice thing to have, but if you have no other interest in the school remember there is also the cost of sending SAT scores, transcripts, and the CS profile, so pick your schools carefully

Why don’t you ask your school’s guid counselor? No one here even knows where you live. To save $60 just b/c of a campus visit seems like a waste of time and a terrible way to choose a college.

St. Michael’s in VT and Mount St. Mary’s in MD waive the application fee and take $1000 off tuition.
