I'm looking for a school with a good business program around New York. My stats are:
- 3.2 gpa (UW)
- 1810 SAT (retaking probably getting a 1950-2000~)
- Sat2: Math 2c- 780, Chem- 640 (zzzz). I'm probably going to take bio or history and hope for a 700~
- ECs- not great...but some
- Few ap courses (mostly honors)
- School doesn't do ranks...so i dunno

I know my stats aren't spectacular or anywhere NEAR that, but hopefully I could get into a decent school. Here is the list of schools I have come up with, please let me know if they are good business schools and whether it is a safety, match, reach, super duper reach for me.

Rochester Institute of Technology

Sycracuse University

NYU (first choice, I know it's going to be a long shot)

CUNY Baruch

Fordham University

Hofstra University

Pace University

Please feel free to comment or add onto the list. Thanks in advance :)

^ is that in the city or state? and also is that safety/match/reach?

State and I'm guessing that you have somewhere between 1200-1300 on M and CR, so a high match/low reach
- Rochester Institute of Technology-Match
- Sycracuse University-Match as long as it's not Newhouse
- NYU-super reach since Stern is crazy competitive
- CUNY Baruch-Safety
- Fordham University-Match
- Hofstra University-dunno
- Pace University-dunno

^ you really think that fordham and rit is a match for me and that CUNY Baruch is a safety? If they are then I would be a lot more relieved lol, also just to put it down, I'm not a NY resident

Yeah Fordham and RIT(due to math 2) are matches and Baruch is definitely a safety. I don't really think OOS hinders SUNY and CUNY too much, if at all, so you should be fine.

^ :O thats awesome lol im thinking about taking bio/korean/chinese, but iono which. I mean for bio im just hoping for a 700, but for korean and chinese (i speak both but more fluent with chinese) i know i could get a 750+ but i dont want to take it unless if i get an 800. Do you think a score of 750-790 will look bad since the percentile for those is around 50% :/

I also have a question about senior year. Will senior year grades and ECs play a big part in my college admissions? Because I plan on taking 3 APs (not a lot, but I've only taken one in hs so far) and trying my ass off to get good grades. I'm just not sure whether it helps or not because if it doesn't I might just drop down to honors (I'm a lazy guy lol)

You don't need to take any more subject tests, Ivies only require 3, and most schools don't require any. I know NYU needs 2, but I'm not sure about the rest (90% sure Syracuse doesn't need any). I think that the reason so many people get those scores on the language tests is because they only take it if they're fluent/near fluent. So If you get a 750+ then colleges know you can speak the language pretty damn well. I'd take both if I were you so they'd know you're tri-lingual. I wouldn't take bio because it doesn't have much to do with your major.

^ all right but my chem sat is kinda low so i wanna take someone additional to raise my score (to hopefully a 700+). I could only take one language test I believe, because they only offer it once a year in Oct. but are you SURE I should take it even if I were to get a 750 in it? Because I heard that it would look really bad, I mean I'm not fluent in it but SAT chinese and korean I believe are basic stuff and I'm pretty sure I dont need to be really advance in it to get a good score. And also they are the 2 sat subject tests that has the highest mean score (764 for chinese and 757 for korean)

I heard that language sat 2s are ball busters if you're not fluent because in the listening portion of the test they talk freakishly fast. I advise that if you're not comfortable with the test, don't take it! Languages probably look good for business majors, but your transcript can show that you have proficient use of one.
If you are comfortable with taking a language subject test, sign up for it. Once you take the test you can submit it if you think you did well. If you think you did poorly, I heard that you can just tell the proctor not to send your test in.

^ yeah i thought of that, but i have to decide before hand with one to study for. I'm either doing one of the languages or bio or history (cuz i really want a another 700+). So if i decided to study for chinese/korean and do bad, I'm kind of out of luck and I won't have the option to take another sat2

You should do language and history if you did APUSH or AP world junior year. That way if you do crappy on your language you still have a chance with history, or vise vesra.

^ yeah but i only have 1 test date to do so...nov. and im taking my sat1 on oct...and i dont think i could make it again on dec because thats when i have to turn everything in to the colleges

You can take more than one subject test at a time. I've mostly heard 3 in one day is max, but people claim to do more

^ not for the listening ones

Well if you know Chinese better then do that and History.

Lehigh and CVillanova would be reaches and Indiana University-Bloomington would be a match.

GiggitusMaximus: you mentioned something about applying to Stony Brooks. Is that for business?

I highly recommend RIT. I have been longing to go there, but it is too far away from home for me. They have a great business program. If you have not checked out the site yet, you should. They have co-ops, and you even start a business with your classmates on campus. Also, the campus has board rooms where you meet to discuss business plans.

^ sounds really cool!!! Yeah, I'll definitely check it out, but do you know if it's in the city or not
