List of Universities with automatic full-rides

<p>Which schools offer automatic (based on SAT) full tuition, room&board etc, to OOS students (if public)?</p>

<p>I think Alabama is one of them but is there some kind of unified list available? Or maybe we can consolidate one here. I'm sure that would be helpful to many others as well.</p>

<p>Go to the financial aid forum and look at the stickies at the top. One of them is about (Almost) Full Rides.</p>

<p>Yes that’s a good thread, [URL="<a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/financial-aid-scholarships/211927-institutional-merit-based-scholarships-full-tuition.html"]here[/URL"&gt;http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/financial-aid-scholarships/211927-institutional-merit-based-scholarships-full-tuition.html"]here[/URL</a>] is the direct link if anyone else wants it.</p>

<p>However most of those scholarships are extremely selective, with acceptance rates commonly around 1%. I created this thread as a place to list only automatic full-rides or at least full tuition (and available to OOS students if the school is public).</p>

<p>Here are the only two I know:</p>

<p>University of Alabama

<p>cooper union has full tution if u get accepted</p>

<p>BC has a “Presidential Scholars” program for those who apply EA. Restricted to 15 EA applicants per year. Full tuition, room, board, everything for four years.</p>

<p>flyingllama,</p>

<p>Hi, does the Alabama scholaship SAT score include writing portion? Thanks!</p>

<p>St. John’s University in NYC. 1350 + SAT and 95 GPA. Automatic full ride, honors college, and half room and board.</p>

<p>Fordham University gives Presidential Scholarships, full tuition and room, to National Merit Semifinalists, Finalists, Winners.</p>

<p>Leah321: I’m pretty sure that the SAT score is Critical Reading + Math. Writing section is not included.</p>

<p>soccersamdude11: I went to St John’s website and the only info I found was on selective scholarships… nothing automatic. Where did you find that info?</p>

<p>when i was applying last year, i went to a college fair and a representative from the school told me about it. i applied and got it this year, only would of cost me 5k to go and it’s 50k if yo pay full.</p>

<p>Those aren’t very high standards to meet. That’s generous of them. Thanks for the info.</p>

<p>anytime. hopefully they didn’t raise the standards for this year lol</p>

<p>^ thanks, that’s cool. so how do I know if my 3.6/4.1 meets the 95 cutoff for St Johns? Is there a way to convert between those two scales?</p>

<p>Berea College in Kentucky has no Tuition for all students, and no room & board for most who are accepted there.</p>

<p>Not to get too picky here, but think the original intent was scholarships where if you have the numbers, you get the award. Qualifying at BC to be in the running for 15 full rides is not the same thing. There are tons of those out there. The Colby Honors award (above) gets you $48K over four years, not even close to a full ride. Looking for things like UA, where it is spelled out and if you hit the numbers you are in.</p>

<p>AL34,
I believe you do not understand. Berea College provides ALL admitted students a 100%, 4-year, full-tuition scholarship. Many also receive their 100% room and board scholarship as well. If you do not believe me, look here:
[Financial</a> Aid and Scholarships | Prospective Students - Berea College](<a href=“http://www.berea.edu/prospectivestudents/financialaid/default.asp]Financial”>http://www.berea.edu/prospectivestudents/financialaid/default.asp)</p>

<p>I was not talking about the honors programs or honors scholarships that many private schools provide.</p>

<p>The Military Academies
Most of the Work College Consortium
Some Specialty Colleges (engineering/music)</p>

<p>College of the Ozarks is similar to Berea, I believe. However, it’s important to note that Berea has an income CAP for applicants/students.</p>

<p>Interesting–I didn’t know that Ohio U’s Gateway Scholarship was automatic.</p>

<p>OP, it would be great if you double-checked suggestions and consolidated into one list. I compiled a similar list with major National Merit awards: <a href=“http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/financial-aid-scholarships/649276-nmf-scholarships-updated-compilation.html[/url]”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/financial-aid-scholarships/649276-nmf-scholarships-updated-compilation.html&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

<p>(Btw–kwu, can you provide a link to Fordham’s NMF award? I wasn’t aware that it was automatic, rather than competitive.)</p>
