they want to destroy your puppy?!?!??! ahhhh!

Yeah... she's a pitbull. :[.

Well they do have a reputation as fighters; and rightfully so, that is how they were bred and was their purpose long ago.

But wouldn't your dog have to have done something to merit a 'ban?'

out of boredom.
which is rare, because usually i'm overwhelmed with all my ec's.

and i'm working on scholastic, except my stupid region shut down it's registration like three mo. ago. rawr.

okay so i'm ranting. and my stuff seems so much less involved than yours. but, because i'm in a mood to make excuses, i'm planning on paring down ec's and upping time commitments and impressive-ness, maintaining social life and grades (i actually love school), reading more, and getting involved in church. also nhs when available. maybe science olympiad next year too, i miss it (was in it last year)

HAVING A LIFE (the rest)

Y'all who spend 40+ hours a week on ECs? Are ridiculous, and not in a cute way. If you're doing it to get into college, you have waaaay misguided priorities. If you're doing all of them because you genuinely love them... well, I don't believe you. Get some sleep.

Narcissa, yours look good. Careful not to put too many clubs down if you only spend a small amount of time on them. Do you seriously spend about 50 hours a week on ECs? Like...seriously? That means 10 hours after school every day!

lookbeyond- I think that people who spend 40 hours a week on ECs are likely very passionate about what they do. Right now I'm averaging 20-25 hours in after school activities, and I'm tired all the time (granted I'm taking 6 APs...but still). It's worth it for me because I like helping my community. I imagine you feel the same way (I counted about 18 for you, and you probably have a similar course load). I surmise that people who spend almost twice as much time as we do on ECs would need some sort of passion to keep going.

On showing passion to colleges: I don't think I'm going to report anything I don't really care about (particularly key club, beta club, and nhs) because I don't want it to seem as if I'm padding my resume. Any thoughts on this?

I would just include it. Might as well. It is a good question though and I'd also like to hear someone else's opinion.

lol maybe it's a bit misleeding that i don't do any of that stuff during tennis season, only after tennis season. so the "whole year" should really be 3/4 year..even tho it's like 1 hour/week during tennis and more afterwards

yeah i'd keep it out, cuz otherwise it'll look liek ur padding or you don't have better ECs. lol i'm taking 5 APs (coulda taken 6 but stupid schedule...) and i'm trying to study for USAMO and stuff....but school to me is whatever..i've gotten almost straight As so far and wouldn't really care if i get a few Bs..
