Listening to your parents..

My parents think I should go to a small catholic college when I graduate and pick a nice safe 4 year major.
Which I basically told my parents 'isn't happening' (Nothing to do with the fact that Im not religious)
They don't think I need to do so many ECs or be worried about community service. I do it and they don't stand in my way but still.
Do you parents agree with what you want to do/ where you want to go? Do they attempt to stop you?

When I told my parents that I would like to become a Veterinarian, they frowned upon it, because of the money and etc. Now, they are really open about the decisions I make regarding my education.

My mom is sort of in the middle. She encourages me to pursue the college of my dreams and has no absurd requirements for college. I do a lot of EC’s and honors classes and she has advised me to slow down/enjoy high school more. She is reasonable though (for example I wanted to take all honors sophomore year and she wanted me to only take 2-3), we ended up talking about it and reached a compromise (all honors, slightly less EC’s), we made the same compromise for junior year.

My parents agree with what I want to do, and it’s actually my parents who helped steer me towards it, but deciding which college is like a war. Parents want medium-sized state U (which I do like very much) because they think it’s cheaper because of the ‘sticker price’ (a term they don’t seem to understand no matter how many times I explain it), while i’m looking at a pricey women’s college in the city (state U costs 40% of private U) that’s a lot smaller and has more aid to give me than state U, because UMass is so damn stingy. I at least convinced my parents to let me apply where I want (pricey college has a free application, like, seriously!), so we’ll see how that goes.
