listing awards won overseas

Okay, I am doing this mainly to flesh my scanty awards list, but if for example, during my schooling in Singapore, if I had high distinction awards for University of New South Wales International Competitions For Schools, wouuld I need to send copies of the certificates in for verification?

It's been about 3-4 years, and I now I only have one certificate, instead of 3 ...

For migrants, would they call or fax the schools overseas to verify awards?

In fact, now that I realise it, am I supposed I get a transcript sent from my last school over there? (I only missed half of my freshman year in terms of getting an American high school education, so half the things on there would be irrelevant.)

Anyone? Are you required to send in photocopies of your awards if they're particularly hard to verify (e.g. because they are international)...?

begs for a response

24 hours away ....

As a Canadian applicant, I wasn't asked to send in copies of certificates for my various awards. I would keep them handy in case the colleges ask for it, but otherwise, just list them, and don't worry about sending in photocopies.

Good luck! =)

Edit: Do your marks from your last school show up on your current school's transcript? If they do, I wouldn't worry about it, especially since it's your freshman year (some schools, such as Stanford, do require transcripts from each school you attended though) If not, you may need it. Perhaps contact the schools you are applying to and ask if it is necessary.
