Hey all. I have a question: when the mount holyoke asks for names of friends and family and acquaintences that attended mount holyoke, is it okay to list someone who has, since graduating, transitioned into the male state? he's someone i've worked closely with and knows me very well. Personally, i don't see anything wrong with listing him, but am wondering if the admissions reps may read too much into it and assume that i want to go through with the same process, and therefore think that perhaps a women's college isn't the best fit? Also, when listing him, do i list his current name and the name he graduated with in parenthesis, or what?

I can't imagine that an adcom would think you were transgendered just because you know a transgendered person who went to Mt. Holyoke. List where? Where application asks if there's anyone you know who attended? It's fine to list him. By all means, put former name in parentheses so adcom will know who you're talking about.

okay, thanks!
