Listing future activities

This has probably been asked before, but I had trouble finding anything through searching.

I have done outdoor track 9-11th grade. I plan to do it 12th grade. For my application, I have listed that I did it 9-12th grade. Is this the standard way to go about it? or should I have only listed 9-11th grade?

Considering the fact that the common app is designed, for the most part, to be for current high school seniors, it should be fine for you to check off the “12’th” grade box. That’s what I did for a couple of my activities as well - especially since I wanted to show that I was committed to certain activities for 2+ years.

Good luck!

Thanks for the response. Any other opinions on the matter?

IMO, If outdoor track is in the spring, then you probably shouldn’t check out 12th. If you are participating now, then you can definitely check the mark.

I would definitely put it down this year. If you are already committed to doing it, then why wouldn’t you put it down? Check the “12th grade” box

I would definitely put it down if you are planning to do the activity. If something happens and you don’t you can always contact the college, but the reality is…that it will not matter one iota.

^^I think you guys have good points. Maybe I should ask my son to also check “school” box on his 12th grade’s internship.
He started in summer, but didn’t have time to do it after school started in Sep. But He already committed to continue next semester. What do you guys think?
