Listing Other Schools You're Applying To

I know that in the college forums there have been multiple conversations about whether it is wise to list other institutions you are applying to if you're asked to do so on the application. Some people think there is strategy to be utilized-don't list any higher rated programs, don't list anything at all, etc.
Can anyone give me perspective on applying to graduate school-what is your advice on whether to list other programs to which you are applying?

i've listed a few, but not all. mostly in the same geographical area.

I did the same thing as huskem.

To be honest, I don't think it factors into decisions -- grad schools don't give a flying fig about yield and all that nonsense. But it made me feel a little squeamish, personally.

I listed them and still got into most of the colleges I applied to. I would say they ask this just to keep statistics on what unis are their main competitors.
