On my college applications, there is a section that says to list any awards I've won in HS. Is there any point in listing awards like the honor roll? Or would that just waste the admissions officer's time? What about other awards given by your high school only to a few students? Or should we just list state/national awards? What about HS awards that relate specifically to your intended college interest (if you list one)?

List them all - why not? Make some sense by organizing them into tiers (national, regional, local) or by subject area, which ever makes sense. It’s usually best to lead with the most prestigious award so the reader doesn’t miss it.
If you have awards for attendance or other minor attributes, you may want to leave them off. However, the honor roll and NHS mean something, and should be included.

I agree with midwesterner - since they have an options for school-wide awards, I think that indicates that you can list those and don’t have to just list state/regional ones. =) I’m not as sure about listing honor roll, because at least at my school that’s just related to grades, so it might be repetitive since they already see your grades (I don’t know though, probably wouldn’t hurt). Definitely include other specific school wide awards though!
