lit hum used book collection

how much is the used lit hum book set they sell at the cu bookstore?

thanks.

around 125 new and around 94 for the used set

Psh. Amazon, shoot. Or half.com.

getting the wrong editions is more of a pain than it's worth. anyone who has had the experience will tell you to just spend the money and save yourself the trouble.

getting the wrong edition is nearly as unproductive as getting the book in a different language. for core books, buy and sell at the bookstore religiously, for others don't; sell others at the bookstore only if it's the end of the year and you are running out of time to sell on amazon/ to other people.

Does the edition change every year? If you buy a used book collection at the library, shouldn't you be getting the same editions as the ones used in the classroom?

I think one book a year usually changes...not counting books that are added/removed year-to-year.

Apparently the edition of the books written originally in English (for 2nd semester books) is not as important. I guess that's seems true, can anyone confirm that?

Yes, that is true, and for obvious reasons. However, you will still have issues finding the right page numbers to read or flipping to the correct pages in class. From what I observed in my LitHum class, though, having the wrong edition or translation wasn't a huge problem, since for papers, you can always borrow the correct book from someone else, and we never delved deep enough into the texts to warrant a lot of page-flipping (there was a lot of plot summary and little close reading). But this was just my class.

Since there are no textbooks on the LitHum syllabus, the bookstore's prices are really quite close to Amazon's (and in some cases a little cheaper). Save yourself the trouble and just buy the boxed set. Buying used books online will be a pain because few resellers will have all the LitHum books you need, so you'll have to pay multiple S+H fees, which are as expensive as some of the books.

And you can find the cost of your textbooks are the bookstore website (just Google it). Some professors may not have posted their book lists yet, though.
