I'm in tenth grade; I just took the subject test in Literature this month and got a 740, which I know isn't a bad score, but not quite as high as I'd been hoping for given my results on practice tests. I suppose my question is two-fold: a) Would this score be worth a re-take, and b) will colleges take into account that I took it as a sophomore? Thank you in advance. :)

Hi, I’m taking the lit test as a sophomore too in June.

Unfortunately, I’m pretty sure that colleges don’t take such things into account. It would be unreasonable for them to factor in what year everyone is in when they take subject tests.

It might be worth a retake if you are planning to apply to the ivies and believe that you can do significantly better (780+). I would consider what you missed - technical terms, misinterpreted a passage, etc. 740 is a great score though.
