I recently signed up for the sat ii Literature exam, but i'm still a junior...i cant' switch or cancel due to the circumstances..so my question is: if i'm currently taking AP English (composition), will i be ready for the exam, or will i be in trouble?

I think you'll be ready.. I'm a junior, no AP English or nothin', and I'm going gung-ho into the Literature exam in less than two weeks. Hooray.

Actually, I don't think it's a matter of being ready or not as it is of being lucky. Hopefully you'll be lucky.

but content wise, is it what we learn in junior year English? I'm not sure and I don't exactly want to switch and jump into another subject test unprepared...

I'm also taking the SAT II Lit exam next Saturday. I haven't really prepped for it myself. I'm also taking the AP Lang & Comp test on Monday, and I think that's more than enough preparation if your class has been doing practice multiple choice frequently. If you're not confident, you could always borrow a prep book from the library (since it's coming up soon) and see what it covers or do a practice test. And the website (http://collegeboard.com/student/testing/sat/lc_two/lit/lit.html?lit) says:

The best way to prepare for the test is through close critical reading of English and American literature from a variety of historical periods and in a variety of genres. The more skilled you become at understanding and analyzing literary texts, the better prepared you will be.

There is no reading list for the Literature test. It doesn't cover specific facts or background information about particular books or writers. If you have practiced your interpretive skills thoroughly and can apply them to a number of different types of literary works, you are ready to take the test.

Best of luck on both exams!

The literature exam really has nothing to do with what you may have learned in English class. It is basically just reading passages and answering questions about them. It is a weird test but I doubt there is anything you can really do to study.

I'm in the same boat as you guys. Feels good not to be alone :)
