I'm planning to take the Literature SAT 2 next year around may...
currently, i'm studying with my friend and we're using Barron's. We never took any AP lit classes before and i heard that the curve for the test is not that good, so i'm kinda worried, haha. Can someone give me some advice as to how we should prep for this or should we even take this subject test?

Probably the best advice I have is just to relax while you’re taking the test, and remember that there is only ONE right answer for each of the questions. I don’t really have any fancy tricks, but just know that it is possible to score well on the exam.

I haven’t taken the SAT I yet, but as far as I know, the lit test is like a CR section on steroids. But if you stay calm and don’t overthink it, I promise you can do well.

To be completely honest, I bought a Kaplan review book for the Lit test and scored dismally on it. I thought I was doomed. Then I also took the practice test from the CB and got the same score that I got on the real test - 790. My advice there would be to take the CB practice test, and do not rely on Kaplan or other outside tests. They’re really misleading. The Kaplan test I took was laden with literature terms with which I was unfamiliar and really, REALLY subjective questions. There should never be subjective questions on the Lit test. The answers should always be right there in the passage. If you can’t find them, you’re not reading it right. They’re there.

Also don’t worry about lit terms. Usually only the relatively simple ones will show up on the real test. Don’t be too afraid of lit! :)

thank you! :)
