Hi, I’m looking for advice on whether to take the literature subject test or the Spanish one. I feel that I may be able to score a bit higher on the literature, but it’s a toss up. (This is based on getting a 740 CR on SAT and roughly a 700 on a practice test for Spanish.) Would universities be more impressed by a non-native speaker getting an okay score on the Spanish test, or is it more important to simply get the highest score possible? Thanks!
I think you should take the one you will get the higher score unless you are using the language test to place out of collee language requirements. Some colleges allow you to do that instead of taking the Ap or IB tests. Neither is a piece of cake though
I would recommend the literature test, despite it being generally a hard test. Most people will recommend not taking a language test as a non-native do to the influx of natives taking the test, and consequentially a tough curve.
