Is the SAT II Lit easy? Do you actually need to revise anything or will a brain and the ability to read and understand the English language suffice? Thanks!

it's not easy~ it may be if you're some sort of literature master.. but yea it's relatively difficult.

if you've ever taken the AP Lit & Comp exam.. it's exactly like it.

just a lot of analyzing poetry (a lot of it being old) and analyzing short stories and stuff...

good luck =]

I think it's easy to death! If you are an avid reader of the classics, this test is definitely a piece of cake to you.

^ haha well... i'm an avid reader of the classics.. i love literature and english.. and i only got a 740 on it.. so yea...

:)................

it's not really studyable - at least in my opinion - it's pretty much all reading comprehension, and I don't really see a way to improve that (i'm sure there is though) but it's mostly you get it or you don't. Get yourself a copy of "ten real SAT IIs" or whatever it's called and take a practice test. Best way to prepare yourself.

You also have to be a genius in reading comprehension. I didn't take any AP Lit or whatsoever, I got an 800 by pure self-study.

^ well, rhapsody, u might be a genius at literature. that's good for u. it's not a piece of cake for the rest of us. don't generalize. u being good at literature doesn't make the test easy. on the contrary, someone might find the math 2c test a piece of cake - i kind of did. but not everyone has an aptitude for maths. so u can't generalize.

yeah, reading comprehension seems like something someone really has to have a personal knack for. even if people without an aptitude for math have to take a math test, they can always study for hours and hour memorizing the right formulas and they just might improve on it. it doesn't seem to always translate the same way when it comes to reading, argh

pat yourself on the shoulder rhapsody

yea.. exactly.. hehe

and .. i really love reading comprehension... and i consider myself good at it. i got an 800 on the SAT I Verbal section.. but literature is definitely not reading comprehension alone. you must analyze and really be able to dig deep into things.. you should also review your literary devices such as metaphor, hyperbole, etc.

good luck!

I'm taking this test on the 28th, and just started reviewing for it. I love to read but what I find difficult is the way some of the questions seem to be interpretable in different ways. what i love about lit in general is that there's not one "right" answer. it's all about interpretation, but in MC format, you can't have that. argh. it drives me insane.
