Literature

So how bad/good is a 710 in Lit? Is it worth a retake?

It's awesome. Don't bother retaking.

if your strong point isn't necessarily Lit 710 is very good.

Yea I suck at literature so I was happy with my 710 but the I looked at the approximate percentile and its like 84th which kind of sucks for HP and the like that I'm applying to. Though I got 800 on the other two which I'm good at and am taking at least one more that I know I can get 800 on I just don't know if its worth retaking the literature to try to get that up since I didn't really prepare for it this time so maybe I can get it up if I do prepare. idk..

710 is 84th percentile? what the heck...

Do colleges know that? Because I just thought they believed everything 700+ was good.

It's 84th percentile for people who take lit, who are already a very self-selecting group.

Yeah for the subject tests in general, usually people take only the tests they will do well on, hence the low percentile.

i just decided today that i'm not gonna sit for Lit next week.

Its crazy. 800 on the math II is around 90th percentile and I think I saw that 800 on Chinese is like a 57th percentile but that just makes it seem that much worse if you don't do amazingly well LOL. I just don't know top schools view on sat II's... whether they consider anything over 700 extremely good, or just moderately/kind of good unless its 750-800?
