Little bit confused

Hi,

I have completed my nomination interviews and await a response. However, I am at a stage where I do not know what to do next. Now, do I just wait for a response from the Senator and Congresman.
Any info would be appreciated, as I have always wanted to attend a service academy and want to make sure that Im not missing anything.

Also, has anyone here attended the Prep school. I see this as a option for me as it was brought up in my interview. I am extremely open to the idea and would like so more info other than what I can get from the website.

Thanks,
Mike

do you have everything else done.
Basically make sure the CIS doesn't say "(not submitted)"
Don't forget to send updates of your senior year.
If you have everything done, I'd start doing push ups...just in case.

son didn't attend NAPS, but he did do a year under foundation program- well, well worth it!

There has been a lot posted on this forum re: NAPS, the majority of it extremely positive.... try using the search feature on this forum and you should be able to find out what you are looking for rather easily!

Waiting is the hardest part- hang in! Best of luck!

thank you...

I know waiting is the hardest part. I have been anxious for the past week awaiting any news of my nomination.

I have read stories aobut applicants who heard about their appointment in late may early June. However, what happens to those applicants who get denied that late? What do they do considering by then most civilian colleges have already had deadlines responding whether you will attend or not?

You will be notified by March. Sometimes spots open up closer to I-day (injuries and such). When this happens some candidates origionally declined, are offered an appointment.

Put a deposit down on the civilian school of your choice by their deadline, which should be May 1st, and hope that it is the "best $$$ you've ever spent on nothing" as you could still receive the appointment in late May or early June.

Thank You for the Advice.

April 15th has been the notification deadline for the past few years.

Sheesh. April 15th?

So we've got the applicants sweating that deadline, and the parents sweating the deadline AND the IRS bill.

Mental note: Buy stock in Pepto-Bismol and Malox in February. ;)

April 15th is the notification date for all colleges and universities. Offers of admission must be accepted or declined by May 1st along with any required deposits.

Isn't it interesting that the college community has standardized the dates that you have to send them $$$ but have not been able to standardize much else. My some applied to several civilian colleges and had to write some of the most annoying essays! He particularly hated "who are you?" on one application. His response was rather humorous with one line stating "I can't imagine a day without meat."

my friend had a simliar one for national merit. her name is mimi, and her first sentence was: "... I am what makes me, me, no pun intended of course."
