Little Kiddie Extracurriculars

Hi, I'm new and I've got a quick question. I have some pretty decent EC's but I still think that my two best ones I achieved when I was, well, in middle school. These are the two:

1) 3x Destination Imagination Global Finalist-

I was living in England at the time and when I first joined it was my school's first time with the program. However, we beat out 40 other teams (England is supposedly the most competitive foreign country outside the US) won districts, county and then nationals. We travelled to Knoxville, Tennessee and placed 13th out of 75 teams, which for us was a huge accomplishment when we came back home. We were featured on TV news stations, written up in magazines, and I won the award as Best Individual Performer at nationals. The next two years, we got 2nd in nationals both times but didn't do quite as well, finishing 20th and 27th the following years at globals. I did this from 5th to 7th grade.

2) The other thing is an academic achievement when I was going to a private prep school in London. The school is supposed to be one of the toughest academic schools and many kids who graduate go onto go to Oxford, Cambridge and so forth. However, my 5th grade year I was the only one in the entire elementary school to get all straight A's and I was given the 4.0 Award at a special ceremony. There are about 500 kids in the elementary school and I was up against 6th and 7th graders.

My question is, are these kind of EC's taken seriously by good schools? Should I put them on my apps or scratch them altogether?

Either way, thanks for any help!!!!

I'd say the first is pretty significant, and it wouldn't hurt to add it in. Somewhere on this site there's a thing about writing a resume and it says to add in really great things from earlier years. The second is not an EC, but simply an academic achievement, and I don't think colleges care much about your grades 7 years ago, so don't bother with that one. Nice job, though.

ok thanks a lot! ill probably go ahead and do that
