Little sticky situation...

So, last admissions season I was accepted to UCSB and SIR’d, then Berkeley accepted me off the wait list and I canceled my SB enrollment to attend here, and a couple problems have risen I won’t get into.

My question is, can I leave here at the semester to go to CC then go back to UCSB? Would my canceling my SIR affect my chances there? Can I still TAG?

Most importantly, how would this affect my financial aid and cal grant? Would I have to spend more than 1.5 years at CC?

"My question is, can I leave here at the semester to go to CC then go back to UCSB? " sure, you can transfer there when you are a junior

“Would my canceling my SIR affect my chances there?” doubt it, but why not call them and ask?

“Can I still TAG?” as long as you leave Cal in good standing. You can’t use TAG (or xfer for that matter) to another UC if you leave in bad standing.

When you say sticky situation, what do you mean? If it involves plagiarism or something regarding ethics or an alleged assault, it would get noted on your record across the UCs.

Oh by sticky situation I just meant wanting to transfer back to a school that I canceled my SIR at haha

You will need to go to a ccc and apply back to UCSB as a junior. There is no penalty for cancelling a SIR. There could be any number of reasons you cancelled - a sick loved one that you wanted to be near. And getting off a waitlist and then deciding it was a mistake will not seen as a fault.
