Live at home or get an apartment?

So this is my first time using this so I’m not sure if I put this in the right forum so sorry in advance. Pretty much my first year of college I lived on campus then I became an RA an have been living on campus for free. But I am going into my senior year now of college and it’s no guarantee that I will be re-hired because they are letting some RAs go for reasons. So I live around 30-35 minutes away from campus depending on traffic and the day. So if I don’t get hired again it’s a apartment complex right next to campus thats for students and its fairly cheap and nice. I was thinking about doing that but my parents have been wanting me to come back home so I can save money since it’s my senior year which I understand. But as this point I am accustomed to living on my own and I don’t want to return home for my final year. I’m in a relationship and have plenty friends on campus so I am used to that environment. So I’m trying to figure out if I should tough it out for a year and live at home or get the apartment thats reasonable with friends for my last year. Advice?

the 30-35 is how far my parents home is from campus btw if that was confusing lol

How will you pay for an apartment yourself?

Well I already have a summer job in place that pays well and a job now so I’ll have money saved up from that and I will be looking for a more permanent job for the year until I graduate and move into my career.

I would try personally to try and keep the RA job as much as possible because you get a single, get paid, and free housing that is most likely a single. If there’s anything in your power that you can do to try and get rehired, I’d do it.

Yea thats definitely what I’m trying to do honestly. I’m just trying to look at every possibility just in case

If you can pay rent out of your earnings, great, but I wouldn’t recommend borrowing to live off-campus if you can live at home for free.
