<p>I just got into the Media Self and Society CPS program at umd, and I'm debating whether or not I should stay at Cumberland Hall with my program or I should be a part of scholars but live somewhere else (for example the Elkton dorms). I've heard that scholars kids don't go out that much and it's much quieter there, and this is what concerns me. I obviously want to get good grades but I do want to have a good time at umd also.</p>

<p>I highly, highly recommend living in Cumberland. A huge part of the Scholars program is living with students in your program (and in other Scholars programs). As far as Scholars students not going out much… you’ll find that that’s not true.</p>
<p>I’m in Cumberland as part of MSS and I looooove it. The building is much nicer than the other buildings around and I love living with the people in my scholars class. The people in MSS are a really good mix of people, and I think you will really regret not living here. If you have any questions about it feel free to PM me! (Also the MSS professor, Dr. Chadha is AMAZING. you picked a good program :D)</p>
