That is a long drive commuting to school daily.

Living on campus allows you to not have to stress out about parking/being late. You can just walk to your classes, plus you’ll meet more people living on campus.

Croix, Your parents really don’t want you living with them–that’s why they let you visit FSU because they knew you would want to live there. Just kidding!

Marianna is about 65 miles away from FSU. If you drove back and forth to FSU 5 days/week that would work out to about $300/month just for gasoline, add insurance and wear and tear on your car and you are at $500/month–about what you would pay for a dorm room. Plus, you would be in your car driving at least 15 hours a week–time you could use for studying. Plus, it is just safer not being on the road that much. Add all that up alone, and it just makes more sense to live at FSU. It could be done, commuting, but it would be better living at school.

That is a loooong commute. And with time between classes and no room to go and relax at, it will not be an easy life. And then when you go home at night, you miss out on happenings in and around campus. It’s doable. But that is one long commute. Just one way.
