Chance Me!?

I want a smaller college with a lot of school spirit that knows how to party! I am planning on doing pre med but i also love anthropology and liberal arts.
I you have any other suggestions i would love to hear them!
thank you!

With a 29 ACT, your list has a large number of reaches. I’d say apply test-optional to Bowdoin. Colgate, Notre Dame, Vanderbilt and Stanford are reaches.

thank you for yoiur feedback! does applying test optional hurt you tho?

Senior courses please?

Anatomy and Phys
Choir
Hospital internship
College comp 2

Calculus 2
choir
Economics
anthropology

I’m assuming these are all courses at your local community college?

Not even taking AP or IB? You may have a 4.0 UW gpa, but many other applicants are going to have the same class rank and GPA while taking AP and IB classes for a majority of their schedule. For your reaches (which is almost half of your list) it isn’t looking good.

If your school does not offer AP, IB or advanced classes, then your class schedule will not hurt you. If, however, your school does offer these, then you could be in more trouble than you think.

I"d seriously suggest trimming down your list, getting rid of some reaches, and instead adding a couple safety or match schools.

Yeah they are thru a community college…our school doesnt offer AP or IB but i will be taking the AP test for calc…

I am taking the most challenging class that our small HS offers but idk how it will stack up…
The two schools i would love to attend would be Wake and Vanderbilt…thoughts?

Good to hear that you’re taking the hardest schedule possible and taking comm college courses. That helps a ton.

I’d apply test-optional to Wake. Your ECs and your grades are perfect for that. It does not hurt your admissions chances at all.

Vandy is still a bit of a reach with your ACT score. I’d retake the ACT for a better shot at getting in here.

Okay thank you for your advice!
