<p>Yes…being in a gated community anywhere doesn’t guarantee anything.</p>

<p>This happened at 2 am…wonder what was going on in the middle of the night.</p>

<p>I don’t think this is in a good area, but I could be wrong. It sounds like it was a stray bullet.</p>

<p>But why in the hell is the scumbag who was arrested for attempted murder, out on bail? And only a 30K bail at that?</p>

<p>I had to re-read both blog posts, because the circumstances are extremely confusing. The perp, Crooks, was arrested in relation to a shooting incident at a gas station a couple of blocks away, at the corner of 10th Ave and Hargrove, across the street from Bent Tree Apartments, that happened around the same time that the victim was shot. The police only think the two incidents are related, but they don’t know for sure. </p>

<p>They’ll be able to tell after they look at ballistics. </p>

<p>We were once at Disneyland and someone fired a bullet from outside of Disneyland and it went up in the air and down into a Disney guest. The person was arrested and thru ballistics analysis were able to determine that the bullet came from that person’s gun. </p>

<p>This happened at 2 am. this is one reason we have always made it kind of a family rule not to be out late at night no matter where we are…the risk is just greater at night.</p>

<p>There are some comments that have popped up in the blog from people alleging to be acquainted with the victim that say he was shot by the perp after the perp followed the victim from the gas station where something may or may not have happened between them.</p>

<p>I hope, that if people know something or really saw something, that they would come forward to notify police and testify if necessary.</p>

<p>Well, the police upped the charge for the perp to murder after using ballistics to confirm that a stray bullet from the fight at the gas station traveled several blocks and struck and killed the victim. What a way to go. :(</p>

<p>I have heard two versions as to what actually happened. In version 1, there was an possible altercation with victim at a gas station and perp followed victim back to apartments. In version 2, victim was struck by a random bullet intended for another target. Does anyone know the real story?</p>
