I am an American citizen living in china, i am hoping to go back to the states to continue a college education, but i am not sure about what kinda tests i need to take. I took the IELTS just in case and i will be taking the SAT and ACT. Should there be anything else i need to do?

Hi! I am in the same situation as you. Usually you just need to take the SAT (since its only offered in China if I’m correct) and AP/IB depending on which one you’re taking. You shouldn’t need to take the TOEFL (I didn’t) since you’re a US citizen… unless your reading on SAT is really bad.

Well crabbie1234, i took the ielts JUST in case, i havent taken the SAT YET, but i will most likely take them this coming summer.

Do u know where i can take the SAT 2 tests? Yes, china offers the SAT tests

First things first, I suggest you get in the habit of using correct spelling and grammar no matter where you go. The SAT and ACT both test writing (even if the ACT writing section is optional, most colleges require you take the writing section), and in order to practice writing the essay, you must practice writing.

I am also an American citizen living in China, and have just finished applying to college. I took SAT I and SAT II. Both of them should be offered at the same place - I don’t think a place would only offer one. Make sure you sign up early!
