Living Learning Community vs. Dorms

So... I wanted to know what a Living Learning Community is like. I'm going to University of Dayton, so if anyone knows specifically what it's like there, that would be really good. And i'm also wandering whether it takes a certain type of person. I'm interested in the concept, because i like having a small group to hang out with, but i don't want a clique, if that makes any sense?

I'm a girl going into Engineering at UD, and they have a specific LLC that's for "Women in the Sciences" like engineering, biology, chemistry, ect.

Thanks to whoever answers this!

Sounds like it might be a good opportunity to get to know other women who share your academic and professional interests. Since the LLC is open to students in a variety of fields, it won’t be as if you’ll be living with the same small group of people who you see in classes every day. The dorm will probably include other interest groups as well as random students, so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to get to know a variety of people. I believe there’s research that shows that students who participate in these types of groups end up with better grades, on-time graduation, social participation etc. than those who don’t, but I don’t have a citation for that.
