I heard that students party a lot in the campus dormitory.
is that true?

My friend's friend says that students on campus force him to drink alcohol.
They knock really loud at your door, shouting, and harassing him; then they force him to drink.

is that really happen in UT-Austin on campus dorms?

Well, I got goosebumps the first time I heard it.

I consider living on campus; however, I do not know about now.

it must be nicer to live on campus if there are no drinking and alcoholic stuff...
what do u think?

Forced him to drink? Unless they held him down and poured it down his throat, he just gave into peer pressure. But if they did literally force him to drink, then that’s when he needs to report them to authority… but I doubt what happened is how your “friend’s friend” described it.

I lived in Jester for a semester. I knew people that drank and I knew people that didn’t. I didn’t, but my roommate did. He and his friends would at times drink in our room. It didn’t really bother me much because I was usually out doing my own thing… studying, or with friends, etc. I just asked him not to drink when I was around. Done and done. You’ll find that most people are respectful if you just talk to them about it. And as for people knocking really loud at people doors, harassing them, and then forcing them to drink… I just can’t see it happening.

The dorms don’t even compare to the amount of partying that goes off campus. And being “forced to drink”? Did they tell him that they would kill him if he didn’t?? I don’t think so.

It’s college! It’s UT! And UT is a party school…

there are definitely people that don’t party…but honestly and personally…they need a life. balance is good!

No one can force you to drink alcohol. They might pressure you to, but it’s your choice.

The party scene at Texas is not in the dorms. If the best parties you can find are dorm parties, you’re really missing out.

Kids do drink in the dorms, but it’s not going to get very rowdy because of the lack of space and because of Texas’ draconian rules on noise and such. Unless you have a cool RA, in which case it might be a little more lax, but still, it’s not a wild party scene.

It’s a party school, but DHFS is not running a party environment in their properties.
