Living on- or off-campus?

A friend and I are looking into whether or not to live on-campus or off of it. I wanted to see some opinions, preferably from people who attended or are attending UF and have lived in the area. We're looking primarily at cost (as of now, it seems as though an off-campus apartment split three-way will be cheaper annually than room and board) but are considering amenities that we'd receive on-campus that we won't have off of it (electricity, water, cable/internet, laundry, etc.).

Anyways, what do you guys think is more worthwhile?

There are plenty of off-campus apartments that offer those amenities that you listed. Some even offer their own gyms, pools, etc. I live off-campus, and I find it to be much better than on-campus housing.

I have found in the past that 3 bedroom apartments are as expensive (if not maybe a bit moreso) per person as 2 bedroom apartments. This is because you may choose a 2 bedroom apartment with 1 bathroom, but when you move up to 3 rooms, you usually end up with 2 bathrooms.

Just a thought.
