Living without a TV

I’m glad I don’t have a TV in my room. Not only is cable incredibly expensive, but I’d probably be really distracted by it. I watch all my shows online. The quality may not be as high, but at least I can watch shows whenever and wherever I want. I prefer it this way, although it’s occasionally fun to be a couch potato and to channel surf.

Cable is free at my school, so I figure I’ll bring a TV. I occasionally like playing games with friends, and there’s really no substitute for that.

I brought a TV for my freshman year, and I’m bringing one for my sophomore year, too, but more for my roommates than me. I don’t really watch much TV at school. I catch up on shows online, so I really only use the TV if I’m watching a movie or something. It wouldn’t be awful to go without.

Don’t bring a tv. Your dorm room is probably very small and having a tv will take up space. Besides, just watch tv online like everyone said. There should also be a flat-screen in the common room.
