Lloyd Hall Scholars Program Questions- HELP??

Hey everyone- I’m thinking about applying for LHSP, but I have a few concerns and questions. I really love the community, but I don’t know how hard it is to get in. Does anyone know what the acceptance rate is/ how selective it is?? Also, if you get in, are you paired with a roommate randomly?? One more question–I kind of have a dilemma because I was recently accepted to LSA honors, and I would love to room in those dorms, but I would preferably like to be in Alice Lloyd. I’m nervous because if I choose to apply to LHSP, I’ll have to give up honors housing and risk not getting into LHSP either, and then just being randomly roomed with a random roommate. Anyone have any thoughts?? It would be much appreciated. Thank you!!

If you get into LHSP, you’ll have to give up Squad, but are you sure you do when simply applying?

@wayneandgarth sorry, what do you mean???

squad is referring to south quad.

@StillWaitingHere I know, but I didn’t know what @wayneandgarth meant by “are you sure you do when simply applying”

You mention that by applying to Lloyd’s program, that you have to give up honors housing. I’m asking if you are sure that merely applying for LHSP means you gives up s. Quad housing. I would have thought you only give it up once you are accepted into LHSP.

@wayneandgarth yeah, the thing is that you are only guaranteed Squad if you are rooming with another person from honors. And if they aren’t applying to that LC, then I wouldn’t be able to room with them…honors also says that you can’t have Squad housing if you are applying to a LLC I think. I don’t know whether to play it safe and room in honors or take the risk and apply for LHSP, which I LOVE. Ahhh…I don’t know what to do.
