@mjstewart1224 I was having this problem before, have you checked the spam section of your email? I eventually found that they had sent me the information to log in forever ago and I found it there.
@dancesoul I check my spam regularly since this whole process started, and I just rechecked. I mean, I can get into my portal and MyPaw, but when I click on “MyAid” it says I can’t access it.
I have access to MyAid and I haven’t even been accepted or denied yet…
Well that’s just annoying
@ckel8496 same, I can see the MyAid but I don’t even know if I got into the school
The my aid email appears to be a automatic email once they receive your FAFSA. The website had no actual numbers for financial aid for us. I did see someone from another website say that they received their scholarship notification but they were early applicants.
I sent my FAFSA to LMU the day after I applied. I emailed financial aid and they said they will take care of it. I haven’t heard back from them since.
I just got my acceptance letter in the mail and it said that I was competing with 13,000 applicants for one of 1300 spots. That comes out to a 10% acceptance rate, but that rate is much higher when researching online. Does anyone know why?
I saw something similar on a previous forum; it means 13,000 apply, about half get accepted, so around 6,500, and the yield comes to 1,300 @mash97
Does
I was accepted on 2/19/16
Major: Liberal Arts Undeclared
GPA (unweighted): 3.71
GPA (weighted): 3.84
ACT: 25
Has anyone received their financial aid packet yet?
No financial aid info yet.
My son received an email from the admissions office saying “Congratulations on your acceptance to Loyola Marymount.” Then it went on to tell him about an alumni scholarship. He was excited about the email, however, he has not yet received an official acceptance letter from them and the email he received was mainly to tell him about the scholarship. So, does the first sentence mean he definitely was accepted, or could that have just been a form letter and they forgot to take the first sentence out for his email? At first I assumed he got in but since that is the only correspondence he has received thus far from them regarding his admission status, I am unsure. His status on MyPaw for his application still says it is under review so we are very confused. Thank you for any input!
@kares43 The letter was a form letter but I would call. I read somewhere else that this letter went out to everyone and it was for Latin and African American Alumni scholarships. LMU send many automatic emails. LMU will send an email when the decision is made. Usually within two weeks. Again, if you have questions, call or email admissions.
@ocmom2 Thank you for the quick reply! His letter was not for either or the two scholarships you mentioned, but was for the Alfred J. Kilp, S.J. ’30 Scholarship and the Raymunde McKay, R.S.H.M. Scholarship, both are alumni legacy scholarships. He sent them an email but they have not responded yet. I think they are still evaluating his application. Thank you again for your help!
Has anyone who was accepted in February heard anything about merit scholarships?
@Momof7thgrader I was accepted 2 weeks ago and there was nothing on merit scholarships. I’m not sure if I didn’t get one or if they are released at a later date.
That’s what I’m trying to figure out. Also haven’t been able to get on to MyAid for a couple of days.
The MyAid is very slow loading the page. You have to give it some time. But there are no updates as of today for us.
