LMU Deferred/Waitlisted 2025

Has anyone here gotten into the film program?

seems like everyone who was deferred EA to the film program then got waitlisted. would be curious to know if anyone has gotten in?

you mentioned 2020 twiceā€¦did you mean 2019 for one of them? sighā€¦17 offered spots is so low :disappointed:

It looks like it is going to be a crazy year for waitlists everywhere! Expect College Wait Lists to Be Obnoxiously Long This Year - WSJ

Sorry. The 17 spots were in 2019.

seems like itā€™ll be pretty unpredictable this yearā€¦

looks like it. honestly, it really seems worse this year than last year. we knew people who got off the waitlist to competitive schools as early as april as people were more uncertain about going to college so schools needed to fill more spots. this year just seems like the total opposite.

I didnā€™t get in but I got the Transfer Pathway collaboration for Biology where as long as I get a 3.0 GPA at a specific Community College I can transfer guranteed as early as Spring 2022. I donā€™t know how to feel about thisā€¦

Also did anyone get the Transfer Pathway Collaboration in general?

Daughter was waitlisted for Health and Human Sciences, keeping fingers crossed!

Hi! I was waitlisted for sftv and I just got the notice a few hours ago. Iā€™m not sure if Iā€™m missing anything but is there something further I need to do to, or do I just wait?

Good luck everyone waitlisted! Make sure to check if you need a continued letter of interest, and MAKE SURE to write a strong letter which details what you have done to continue demonstrating interest in your field between the time of applying and now.

Also, please remember that it doesnā€™t matter how you get there, it is the final result. So even if you are waitlisted, do not feel bad. An acceptance is an acceptance, even if you have to wait. One you are in the school, no one care about if you were RD, EA, ED, or waitlist and the school certainly doesnā€™t treat you any differently. If you know you love LMU, and you are willing to wait, just remember if you are accepted, that you SHOULD NOT feel like a second choice. An acceptance is an acceptance.

do u know if there is a specific date we have to turn in our waitlist letters by? they didnā€™t tell me in the decision letter or the portal

Does anybody know the earliest that waitlisted students were accepted last year? Was it always May or did some start in April?

I personally did not go through the waitlist process for LMU so I do not know, but if it is unclear to you I definitely would CALL your advisor through LMU. If you can, do not give your name or reference ID, just ask your question.

My granddaughter was waitlisted at LMU as well. Weā€™ll have to wait and see.

I keep checking the portal for possible updates but so far nothing yet. I think some students were taken off the waitlist in Aprilā€¦hereā€™s hoping.

Son notified last night of acceptance into Film Program (from waitlist). Good luck to everyone!

Anyone else get a response from the waitlist?

Hey everyone on here! I was waitlisted to LMU last year and got off it July 23rd into Film Production. I just wanted to offer some insight into LMUā€™s process as I remember how nervous I was last year. Iā€™m still friends with my admissions counselors who accepted me and sheā€™s given me a lot of info into the process as well.
LMU can go to the waitlist earlier but usually will start late June and continue on after that, This is due to several different deadlines other accepted students have to make to commit. Get excited about another school but you never know!
Youā€™ve probably read this but keep in touch with your admissions counselor or someone at lmu. They are truly just swapped and will forget about you if you donā€™t make yourself known. this is one of the ways they chose who to take. I canā€™t stress this enough my counselor straight up told me if I hadnā€™t sent her an email two days before to give a a final confirmation I wouldnā€™t have gotten in. Of course do this respectfully.
If you get in expect to fight for financial aid, youā€™re a waitlist student so you get bottom of the barrel.
I hope this helps calms some nerves! This is just what Iā€™ve gathered from my experience of course thereā€™s a million other things too so disclaimer. Good luck to everyone youā€™ll all end up in great spots!
