LMU EA Class of 2026

My DD was admitted EA, but no mention of merit aid, whereas other schools have done that concurrent with the admissions decision. Does anyone know timing of merit aid decisions? Is it tied specifically to UHP application in any instances? Do any of the merit awards at LMU involve an interview weekend of any sort?

LMU does things differently wrt merit and need based aid (based on fafsa). You will hear about the merit and need based in late Jan or early Feb

Do you know if they would give financial information to deferred students or would that only come after they were admitted? Also, is there a date yet for when regular decisions will be released?

Aid info in early Feb will be only for admitted students.
Regular decision will be first week of April (no firm date)

Is anyone familiar with the usual size of the Film and Television Production incoming class? Iā€™m trying to decide if I would prefer a smaller, tighter-knit class or a larger class where Iā€™d meet more people.

Hi @JWG , thatā€™s great having offers from both Chapman and LMU. My D chose LMU, she was a Theater major but moved into screenwriting once at LMU and minored in it. She chose LMU for the campus feel and location (although Chapman was super impressive, and it may have swung towards Chapman if she was a film school major). Anyway, her screenwriting experience at LMU was very positive. Overall at LMU she made incredible mentorships and her professors always seemed very engaged and passionate. She now has an amazing, perfect job in the theater industry with playwriting opportunities for this coming year. The connection for that job came from her post-grad summer job, not LMU, but LMU and the well-roundedness of the BA prepared her well for this particular dream job and, I imagine, many other jobs in the industry. One plus LMU might have over Chapman is location for internshipsā€¦the drive from Chapman to LA would be rough for an in -person internship, unless it is full time and the student moved to LA for the semester.

My Oldest daughter is about to graduate with a Marketing Major. Her junior year she was accepted into the prestigious M School within the college of Business and has had amazing opportunities working with actual companies and creating campaigns that are used in the real world. She signed a contract for a job with an agency she was interning for the summer before Senior Year and will be gainfully employed when she graduates. LMU goes the extra mile in helping their students network and find work even before they graduate.

What is the M school?

B school?

No she said ā€œthe M school within the Business school.ā€ I can just Google it.

M stands for Marketing. It is a school within a school. A sort of elite program within the business school. You apply for it separately your Sophomore year. Then, Starting Junior year you take special classes that bring you out in the real world collaborating on projects in marketing. Very unique and wonderful program!

Can you only be part of it if your concentration is marketing?

No I donā€™t believe so. I seem to remember my daughter saying a friend of hers in Studio Arts was accepted into the program.
