Just an update regarding my own merit aid from LMU. Originally got 16,500 Arrupe Scholarship, plus the $2000 EA award. I emailed the financial aid office to appeal and was able to get my Arrupe Scholarship up to $20,000.

Iām really curious if anyone from the early February acceptances received any info about merit aid?
@Momof7thgrader I was accepted on February 4th and Iāve yet to receive any word about financial aid. They received my FAFSA on February 1st if that is of any help. A few of my classmates who have also been accepted to LMU have gotten some form of financial aid package (albeit incomplete in many cases, but not all)
If you applied EA, you received notification at the end of January or so. If you applied RD, Iāve seen it posted that you will hear by the end of March.
@anothermuggle , congratulations on getting your aid award increased. Would you mind sharing the approach you used when you emailed LMU?
@etajski Basically what I did was thank them for their generous offer, and then I said I was concerned about the long-term cost of attendance given the current merit scholarship offer. I included the merit scholarship offers I had gotten from other schools to compare with what LMU had given me. I also listed my SAT and GPA and mentioned that they were well above the 75th percentile of admitted students.
I was really cordial about the whole thing and they responded with the increased offer within a month

I just received my Merit Aid (later because iām Internationalā¦) 25k per year + 2k EA reward. So total of 27k per year :)!
