LMU or CLU?

Hi guys. May 1st is coming up and I’m kind of stumped about what school to go to. California Lutheran University offered me around 26k in scholarships, and I would be able to live at home because it is only a 25-30 minute drive away form my house, so I really wouldn’t have to pay much at all. Loyola Marymount University has offered me 18k AND I would have to live on campus, since it is considerably further, mayne 45 mins-1 hr away (at least for the first year). LMU is the better school, but CLU is just so much cheaper! In the future, I’m looking at med or pharmacy school, but I haven’t really decided yet. I don’t have much of a preference, and at this point I think it’s a good idea to get outside opinions. Thanks

hellooo

I don’t think there are very many Cal Lu people on CC. It seems like a nice school. I have a friend who went there who loved it, and another friend’s son also got a great education there. I don’t know how they do for med school admissions, though. If you want to keep that as an option, you might want to dig around a little bit to find out.

Ok, great thanks for the help

any other opinions???

We also live very near CLU and know quite a few people who attend both schools. While LMU may be ranked a little higher, CLU also has a good program. Once you leave CA neither one has a lot of name recognition. If you are planning to continue on to grad school it is important to keep undergrad costs down. LMU can be more like a 1-2 hour drive with traffic if you ever decided to commute. Grad schools aren’t going to care which one you attended but will look more at your GPA. I’d go with CLU for the lower cost.

ok ya that makes sense thank you!
