Does admittance into the screenwriting program require/generally prefer a portfolio? I know other departments in the School of Film and Television like Production, Animation, do give the option of submitting a portfolio, but I can’t find anywhere if Screenwriting does.
And as for deadlines I’m a transfer student hopefully applying for early action right now if I can get things ready in time.
I’d call admissions to verify if you need a portfolio or not. Looking at the admissions page, I agree, it doesn’t look as if you need to submit one. My daughter was accepted to studio arts program, and while it says a portfolio is optional, she definitely submitted one.
I do see under TV/film production, you can submit a 500words essay. If you’re looking to get into screenwriting, perhaps this is where you’d submit some examples of written work. Good luck!
You don’t need a portfolio but if you have work you want to submit you can do say under the production major of slideroom although you are screenwriting (I did that)
