LMU vs Chapman

Ok so I know this is a popular discussion topic but I was accepted to both for graphic design. I know that chapman is ranked higher for there graphic design program but I just feel like I’ll get so bored in such a small town. If someone could let me know there thoughts. Also if u could compare party life, General education and vibe of the campus! Thanks. Also chapman gave me more money but I don’t know why I’m still leaning towards LMU more.

Also if there’s any other aspects u think I should know please go ahead

Also, I just wanted to add whoEVER says it’s a 45 min drive from CU to LA and 15 min to Manhattan Beach is LYING TO YOU BBY. It’s an hour drive, give or take 30 or 60 minutes depending on traffic, and Manhattan Beach is a good 20-30 minutes away as well. I don’t know much about LMU, but I’ve applied there for fall! I hope someone can give you insight to LMU so as to better weigh the options.

Hey, I went to Chapman as a HS Undergrad and only stayed for a semester, mostly for reasons not entirely at fault of the school. The academics themselves ( I was in Dodge as a Film Studies student ) were the best bit about Chapman. 2 of 5 teachers in my first semester were excellent and only one was ever problematic in their teaching methods, which I think is pretty good considering I didn’t have a great understanding of which teachers were red flags and which weren’t early on in the course selection progress. And I learned a lot in most of my classes, which weren’t too big either. That gave me a chance to establish a better relationship to the professors. The campus is beautiful, and public safety as well as registrar seemed on top of their ■■■■. That said, the student body can be a bit difficult to integrate with if you’re someone who isn’t a man/cis/het/straight/white/rich. I just wanted to point that out, since in my personal experience I ran into a lot of fellow students/ & even professors who were insensitive/ignorant to some degree, and were incredibly popular both in social and academic spaces. As for what there is to do, ur right - there really is not that much to do if you’re going to chapman. The highlights of the weekends are Disneyland ( if you have the money and the mentality to pay for an annual pass ), and frat parties all of which get shut down usually before 2am, earliest 11pm. There’s always the occasional bus/drive to Los Angeles but if you don’t have a car or money/time for a bus trip it isn’t always worth it to go if you plan to get back on the same day. There are clubs and social hubs on campus, but usually how much you do and what you do in your spare time is going to be dependent on what’s nearby, accessible, and available, as well as what friends you make. NOTE! If you plan to be in student housing, there is a significant chance of finding someone who will be just as bored as you are who is down to find something to do. Me and mine mostly got fat. ( There’s a coldstones 10 min away, and an affordable pizza place walking distance lmaooo )
