Okay, so I was deferred to regular decision at LMU for an animation major, so I’ve been looking at other schools. I’ve looked at SCAD, and it has one of the top 3 animation programs in the country. My dream job is at Disney/Pixar (yes I know , CLICHÉ) but Disney means a lot to me. Which animation program is worth it? Which animation program gives me a better chance for Disney? Given that SCAD is solely an art school, do I have a worse chance at a job than LMU if I study animation at either school?
@alinhardt33 did you look into Ringling? If you want Disney…I’d look there. I’d also look at CalArts. Also…SVA has an amazing animation program as does MICA and Pratt (for 2D). Good luck! My daughter wants 3D animation and just got into her ED school (RIT). She’s also still waiting for MICA, SVA, MCAD, CIA and Massart. Don’t get too hung up on top three schools…many great programs have students graduate and work for these big studios like Pixar.
