<p>This guy in my school just got an LOA today in the mail but he was not picked by our local congressman or senators for a nomination, is he out of luck or will the academy find him a nomination from the sup.?</p>
<p>For people wondering his stats I think he only had like 1200’s on the SAT and no sports participation at all. He is working on his Eagle scout but is not there yet.</p>
<p>My friend and I who both received congressional nominations were dumbfounded when he told us.</p>
<p>Doesn't USAFA use the National Waiting list as West Point does? I'm pretty sure USAFA has select pool of nomination-less applicants they choose on a competitive basis. But wow, LOA with 1200 SAT and no athletics? He must have lucked out on that.</p>
<p>check out the posts on the national waiting list for usma. i thought it was nomination-less applicants too. but its not. from what i read about it they pick 1/10 for an appointment. then another for the waiting list.</p>
