I received an e-mail today from my RO telling me that I got the waivers I need and that I am now medically qualified. My LOA said that all I needed was the waivers and that I was then guaranteed an appointment. I'm not telling anyone I'm in until I get that paper that says I am, but has anyone ever heard of anyone being in my situation and not receiving an appointment? I'm just trying to gauge the situation while I wait for my letter(s) my RO said are in the mail.

A similar situation happened to my son, he got his actual appointment about two weeks after satisfying a nomination requirement on his loa. Be patient and relax it will come. Congratulations!

I was in the same position with west point, my appointment came two weeks after my waiver. I think you are set, admissions would be going back on their word if they didn't offer you an appointment.

krypter- if i were you, i would stop worrying about your appointment (which will arrive any day now) and start shopping - and using- a good pair of running shoes!!!

Congrats and welcome to the Class of 2011!!! :)

Wow, that is EXACTLY the type of news I was hoping to hear. I still can't believe it....and I was getting ready to contract with Army ROTC too b/c I thought for sure I wasn't going to get in....wow....this is freakin awesome lol

I would still accept the AROTC scholorship. Just in case, you know. I've accepted mine even though I got an appointment to the Naval Academy.

Though, does anyone know when I should contact the NROTC and notify them that I will be turning down the scholorship?

It's not for a scholarship...I'm a Sophomore at the University of Central Florida.

Oh. hah, nvm then.

Congratulations Kryper!!. We went through this same waiting game with my son last year. Once the waiver was granted he received his Appointment the next week. He received a call from his Congressman a day after the waiver was posted telling him that he was receiving an Appointment to the USNA. Enjoy the spring and get ready for quite a summer. Again, Congrats.

Well thank you, but I won't be celebrating/telling the world until I receive either a phone call or a letter. But thank you all the same!
