LOA Without Nomination

I got my letter of assurance today. However, so far, I got a letter saying that I did not get the nomination from my one senator.
I am very worried. What happens if I do not get any nomination? Do I have any other ways to get appointed?

If you got an LOA, you pretty much got your appointment to West Point, assuming that you've passed your CFA.

Don't worry, West Point will find a nominating source for you.

"Pretty much" is the qualifier used. Nothing is for certain in life except for death and taxes. An LOA does send a signal to the MOC's that West Point wants you, but that doesn't mean they have to listen to West Point. The MOC committee might decide that someone else is a better candidate for whatever the reason, thus the "Letter of Assurance". IF you get a nomination, THEN we will hold a slot for you. Sure seems like it takes an act of Congress to get into one of these schools. Hey, wait just a minute...

Make sure that your other Senator AND your congressman (or congresswoman) are aware that you have received an LOA. I would suggest you call them TODAY to let them know this very important piece of information. Also make sure that you have applied for Vice-presidential.
