i would not let my debt get higher than 28k

Thanks! that was a valuable resource. but the thing is that my dad has assets (and hes against the whole going-abroad plan so hes not ready to sell it), so after 4 years this asset will have gained a considerable value. Somewhere around $120,000

hehe dude thats EXACTLY my story as well!!!!:p:p....my dad just isn't ready to sell his property!!....he says only if the need arises he'll sell it and that too after 4-5 years bacause by then its price appreciation ONLY be able to cover up my entire educational expenditure....

hahaha! thats the thing with pakistan-india!! real estate values increase by a zillion in a very short span of time! :>

dude have u talked to anyone about whether the US embassy accepts fixed assets like real estate to cover up our studies without creating much fuss??

well i filled in my financial aid apps with that :( ..nut my american-national uncle said that he can do all the paperwork and say that he will be my funder

the thing is that if an american national is your sponsor then the embassy people can easily come to a conclusion that you will stay in the US to pay back your sponser 'cause obviously you'll earn more there....i had the same problem regarding an american sponser....so i decided against taking his help....thats why i wanted to know whether fixed assets will work to prove that you have enough financial resources....

is it considered bad if you want to stay in the united states after your education?

hehe that was a very innocent way to ask!!....anyways if asked you'll need to prove your "Non-Immigrant" intentions to the US embassy during your visa interview....they don't want you to immigrate to the US and if they suspect that you have such intentions then they might reject your visa....however there have been some liberalisations recently but still they do consider this issue if not that strictly....therefore i would suggest you to refrain from taking any financial help from an outsider especially if he/she is an american citizen....this just gives them a reason to fuss....

hehe ok .. thanks a lot!! i dont know what i wouldve done without this .. because i intended to inform them that i wanted to stay :S
