Has anyone got any experience with this? I'm referring to private loans (from internationalstudentloan.com, for example).. My family contribution is more than double of what my parents can afford to pay out of their own pockets, but I can't ask for a review of my aid package. I really want to go to the US, and my parents are okay with me taking out a loan, so I was wondering if this would be a feasible option.

My school didn't offer me their own institutional loan, that's why I've got to look at private loans. I'm thinking of taking out about a little over $3000/year. Does that sound like a reasonable amount of debt to be paid off after I graduate?

Also, would taking out private loans affect my visa application in any way?
